The Village of Richfield, Wisconsin
The Village of Richfield, Wisconsin
It seems like everyone looking to move to the Milwaukee area has a soft spot for Richfield. This village, located in Washington County, may be right in the metropolitan Milwaukee area, but it has a charm that is all its own. The area sits just east of Holy Hill, clearly one of the most recognizable landmarks in southeastern Wisconsin. With its thriving downtown area and developing residential communities, Richfield became a village in February of 2008.
Nestled amidst the Kettle Moraine Forest, Richfield offers gorgeous views of the surrounding natural landscape and Holy Hill. The village boasts five lakes – Friess Lake, Little Friess Lake, Amy Belle Lake, Bark Lake and Lake Five.
In the fall, the area comes alive as the leaves begin to change colors, and the whole area is set aglow as residents and visitors can be seen taking a scenic drive through the countryside to view the fall foliage. There is something for everyone including such activities as swimming, fishing, cross-country skiing, hiking and horseback riding.
The area continues to grow and develop. Many people are attracted to Richfield with its high quality of living, numerous recreational opportunities and direct commute to downtown Milwaukee. Richfield is a great place to raise a family. With small classroom sizes and above average exam scores, both the Friess Lake School District and the Richfield School District offer small classroom sizes and exceed or significantly exceed state accountability ratings. Additionally, Milwaukee Magazine named the Richfield School District one of the “Top 10 Schools” in Southeastern Wisconsin in 2012 and in 2012-2013 Richfield was ranked as the top school district in the State. There are no colleges or universities within Richfield, but there are several nearby including University of Wisconsin campuses and the Moraine Park Technical College./p>
Residents enjoy a slower pace of life without giving up the convenience of area shopping, schools, attractions and health care. In addition to numerous educational and recreational opportunities, Richfield offers residents a strong economy with many jobs in the manufacturing, construction and retail industries. Two medical facilities provide ample employment opportunities as well as excellent health care: Aurora Medical Center Washington County in Hartford and St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend.
